Mobile Paper Shredding Events Announced Latest News

New PROGRAM IN 2010 – Mobile Paper Shredding

All Bergen County residents are eligible to participate in Bergen County’s first series of Mobile Paper Shredding events for personal documents.  These events will be free for Bergen County residents, and will remove residentially generated confidential/personal documents from the mixed paper recycling stream, while being handled in a secure manner so as to prevent the possibility of identity theft. Residents will be provided the opportunity to observe their documents being shredded on-site. Documents will be limited to confidential/sensitive materials only. There will be no need to remove paper clips, staples or paperboard binder covers. Recycle all non-confidential papers (hardcover books, magazines, newspapers, photographs or x-rays) in your municipality, either curbside or at the recycle center during operating hours.

In an effort to accommodate all those wishing to participate, please limit your documents to 4 bags/boxes weighing no more than 10lbs. each.

In conjunction with the computer and electronics collection, compost bin sales and the tire recycling events, the BCUA will host the following one-day mobile shredder events between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m., rain or shine on the following dates and locations:
