The Bergen County Utilities Authority (BCUA) Division of Solid Waste Management is responsible for the development of the solid waste plan for the proper management of solid waste within Bergen County. The original plan was adopted by the Bergen County Board of Commissioners on October 1, 1979 and has evolved through the years to reflect the dramatic changes in solid waste management in New Jersey.
