BCUA Waste Water and Solid Waste Service Charges Rate Hearing

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that a Public Hearing shall be held by The Bergen County Utilities Authority (“Authority”) at 5:45 P.M. on Thursday, December 19, 2024 at the Administration Building of the Authority, Public Meeting Room, Foot of Mehrhof Road, Little Ferry, New Jersey, regarding the Authority’s proposed 2025 Wastewater Service Charges and 2025 Solid Waste Service Charges.  Public comments relating to the proposed 2025 charges will be heard and considered by the Authority at this Public Hearing.  The proposed charges for 2025 are as follows:

 WASTEWATER SERVICE CHARGES

             The Authority hereby proposes the following Wastewater Service Charges for the period January 1, 2025 through December 31, 2025: 

 

Operation, Maintenance and Debt	Flow	$ 1,053.23 PER MILLION GALS
Operation, Maintenance and Debt	B.O.D.	$ 397.31 PER 1,000 LBS.
Operation, Maintenance and Debt	T.S.S.	$ 350.38 PER 1,000 LBS.

 SOLID WASTE SERVICE CHARGES

             In accordance with the August 4, 2023 New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection certification of the March 1, 2023 Bergen County District Solid Waste Management Plan Amendment, the Authority hereby proposes the following Solid Waste Service Charge for solid waste generated within the Bergen County Solid Waste Management District for the period January 1, 2025 through December 31, 2025:

 Solid Waste Service Charge - $1.89 per ton.
