BCUA Rate Hearing for Distribution and Sale of Treated Effluent for Beneficial Reuse

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that a Public Hearing shall be held by The Bergen County Utilities Authority (“Authority”) at 5:30 PM on Tuesday, November 26, 2024 at the Administration Building of the Authority, Public Meeting Room, Foot of Mehrhof Road, Little Ferry, New Jersey, regarding the Authority’s proposed Service Fee Schedule for the Distribution and Sale of Treated Effluent for Beneficial Reuse. Public comments relating to the proposed Service Fee will be heard and considered by the Authority at this public hearing. The proposed Service Fee Schedule for the Distribution and Sale of Treated Effluent for Beneficial Reuse is as follows: 

Service Fee Schedule for the Distribution and Sale of Treated Effluent for Beneficial Reuse

 The Authority hereby proposes the following Service Fee Schedule for the Distribution and Sale of Treated Effluent for Beneficial Reuse commencing on January 1, 2024 until December 31, 2028:

 $ 1.72 per thousand gallons. The Service Fee Schedule for the Distribution and Sale of Treated Effluent for Beneficial Reuse will be revised on an annual basis, based on the increase or decrease in Consumer Price Index for the New York/Northern New Jersey area as published by the United States Department of Labor.  Notwithstanding the above, any annual increase shall be a minimum increase of two and one half percent (2.5%) and a maximum increase of five percent (5.0%).  The Authority reserves the right, upon notice, to revise the Service Fee Schedule for the Distribution and Sale of Treated Effluent for Beneficial Reuse on an annual basis as circumstances and/or conditions may dictate.
